boopstr is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our pet-focused social app.
boopstr, PBC ("boopstr," "we," "our," or "us") is a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation, United States. We collect as little personal information as possible and only use it to provide and improve boopstr.
boopstr Content (not federated): Pet profiles, memorials, wishlists, and other content you create in boopstr currently remain within boopstr and are not published to the AT Protocol. You control who can see your boopstr content through privacy settings (private, shared with select users, or public within boopstr).
Bluesky Posts (federated and public): If you choose to post to Bluesky from within boopstr, those posts are published to the Bluesky network and are always public by design of the AT Protocol and may be visible across the federated ecosystem. Deletion from boopstr does not guarantee immediate deletion across Bluesky or other services.
We share information only as needed to operate boopstr or when you direct us to. Integrated services and providers include:

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide our Services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Below are our specific retention periods:

Memorial pages are designed to preserve memories of beloved pets. Memorial content is retained indefinitely by default. If you are the creator of a memorial or an authorized representative of the account holder, you may request removal by contacting us.
Content posted to Bluesky via boopstr is subject to the AT Protocol's federated architecture. Deletion requests submitted to boopstr will remove content from our Services, but we cannot guarantee removal from Bluesky's network or other federated services. You may need to submit deletion requests directly to Bluesky for content that has propagated across the network.

No system is 100% secure, but we strive to protect your data and will notify you of material security incidents as required by law.
boopstr is not directed to children or minors under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a user under 16 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.

boopstr prohibits the posting of nonconsensual intimate imagery (NCII), including AI-generated deepfakes. If you are depicted in such content posted on boopstr, you may submit a removal request to support@boopstr.com. We will remove reported content within 48 hours of receiving a valid request. For full details on our NCII policy and procedures, see Section 10 of our Terms of Service.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we'll notify you in-app or by email (for waitlist users). Your continued use of boopstr after an update means you accept the revised policy.
